Our journey began in the late 1800s with Harvey Hubbell, inventor of products we all use in our everyday lives, like the plug receptacle, the pull chain light socket, and notably, the electric water heater. Hubbell revolutionized the way people accessed and utilized hot water.
In 1920, the electric water heater division of Harvey Hubbell's company was spun off to become The Electric Heater Company, maintaining the trade name Hubbell. In 2022, the holding company of Hubbell and its sister brands became The Nudyne Group. Hubbell is one of four water heating and storage companies in a family of six.
Hubbell has become the go-to custom water heating solutions provider. We serve the commercial, industrial, naval/government, marine/offshore, and foodservice industries with energy sources ranging from electric, indirect and gas. Hubbell also offers options for special purpose water heating such as tepid water for safety systems, DI/RO, and explosion resistant products for hazardous locations. We are inherently nimble and uniquely responsive to an engineer's specific requirements. Our deep expertise and culture of innovation allows us to provide customized solutions other companies can't (or won't). We offer storage capacities from 1-10,000 gallons — all designed, engineered, and manufactured for reliability and longevity coupled with unparalleled support and service.
We have one simple goal: to engineer water heating solutions that stand the test of time. And they have. Our heaters are built with high-grade materials like HydraStone™ cement lining, stainless steel, and 90/10 copper nickel. We build to meet the standards set by UL, CSA, USCG, ABS, DNV, ASME, NR13, and MIL as applicable. We proudly build in ISO 9001:2015 certified facilities in the U.S. (our products contain imported components and are Buy American Act compliant).
Hubbell shows its value to engineers and owners by being flexible, responsive and capable of solving problems. Hubbell's strength is customizing and developing innovative solutions for our customers, not high-volume mass produced residential products. We excel in applications involving strict space constraints, unusual installation locations, unique power requirements, or a non-standard control logic requirement. Our legacy of reliability stands firm across the industry. More than 100 years strong, Hubbell merges the capabilities of a large manufacturer with the service of a family-run enterprise.
